After our dead insects spent a day or two in their jars, we took them out to see how well the relaxer worked. Some of the insects were too dry because they were dead too long before they were put in the jar. The newly expired insects where much easier to manipulate for study.

They are still collecting more fallen insects to add to their collection!
I love how our girls can be princesses...with dead bug collections. My six year old is definitely girly, but she LOVES bugs. We only keep the dead ones, though. We haven't had the heart to kill ones we catch yet...unless they are spiders and are trespassing in the house. Then SMOOOOSH! I like your display.
