Sketch Tuesday: Something with Claws

The girls are assigned a Sketch Tuesday theme of:

 Something With Claws

I thought they’d choose a tiger, bear or lion…. no.  They drew a bird.  Yes, birds have claws that are important to their livelihood but not what I’d consider ……grrrrrr claws.

Sketch Tuesday: The Letter ‘H’

1320863448_b8d30c9da6_o

Have you always wanted to add art into your homeschool curriculum but did not know how to start?   Well, here’s a simple way to start – check out Barb’s blog – Harmony Art Mom.  It’s free!

Each week Barb assigns a different theme for your child to sketch. The assignments are open-ended to bring out your child’s creativity. I do not have to plan another lesson and my girls looks forward to it.  I even made a Sketch Tuesday grid card for their workboxes!

Another fun part of Sketch Tuesday is that my girls get to see their work displayed along with all the other families who participate on Barb’s blog.  There are no rules and you only have to participate when you want too.  Check out the Sketch Tuesday participation information here.

Sketch Tuesday: Ship Ahoy!

Our Sketch Tuesday assignment: Sketch something you find on a ship or a boat!

M5 drew a sailor and his oar.  The shark that was attacking his boat didn’t want to scan on my new scanner (still working on learning how to use it).  M5 drew a sun way up high at the top of the photo… it was sweating tears (it wouldn’t scan either – ugh).

I present the sketch assignment to the girls and look forward to seeing what they draw. I love hearing the stories behind their sketches too!
